The Fishing Trip
Big Bear Halibut Charters offers several different fishing options. Full day halibut trips or halibut combo trips. Combo trips include other species, such as Rock Fish, Lingcod, King and Silver Salmon. We opperate May thru September and our busiest month is July. We highly recomend booking ahead of time no matter what month you plan on fishing with us, walk-ins are always welcome but theres not always room. -Filleting of your fish at no additional charge.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Camera, film, batteries, memory chip
- Sun screen, motion sensitivity medication
- Any necessary prescription medications
- Rain gear
- Layered clothing and a hat for rain or shine
- Lunch
- Rubber boots or soft-soled shoes
- A valid Alaska fishing license – sold at our shop – for fishermen 16 or older
- A good night’s rest
- A good attitude and a sense of humor – let’s have fun and catch fish
All of your outdoor gear can be purchased in Anchorage at Sportsman’s Warehouse
Or in Homer at Katchemak Gear Shed as well as Ulmers Drug and Hardware
Our charter office / Gift store also has many of the things you may need such as gloves, hats, sunglasses etc. Our prices are very reasonable.
WHAT NOT TO BRING:
- Illegal drugs
- Hard-soled shoes (slippery and leave marks on the deck)
- Hard alcohol
- Fire arms
- Electronics, such as computers and video games
- A hang over
